To be an independent contractor, there are a few requirements. You must have:
Valid driver's license
Functional cell phone with talk and text
Proof of valid auto insurance
Your own personal vehicle
Pass a background check
own or have access to:
2-4 ton floor jack
4 way lug wrench or breaker bar and sockets
10'-12' jumper cables
Jump box with air
3-5 gal gas can
Funnel
Tire patch kit
cones with reflective material on it or reflective triangles

Key Responsibilities
Diagnose Vehicle Issues: Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and test drives.
Perform Repairs: Fix issues related to engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and other components.
Maintenance Services: Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
Replacement and Upgrades: Install new parts and upgrade systems to improve vehicle performance.
Safety Checks: Ensure vehicles meet safety and emissions standards.
Customer Interaction: Communicate repair needs and costs with customers, providing clear explanations of services.
Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of repairs, parts used, and services performed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.
Proficiency in using diagnostic and repair tools.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
Physical stamina for lifting heavy parts and working in various conditions.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Certification from a trade school or vocational program (preferred) or Work Experience with references.
ASE certification or equivalent (a plus).
1-3 years of experience in automotive repair (preferred but not always required).

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 55 per week
